We had the privilege of interviewing the Artist. Here are the excerpts from the interview:
Please tell us about your Latest Music.
My latest single is called “all up in my head”. This is the second and final single for my EP called “CAN’T BE FAZED.“ For this single, I wanted to express a made-up story about someone so incredible, so amazing that they seem to be someone you made up in your head. That’s something I like to do with my music, I like to write stories that people can relate to, as well as write true stories that occur in my life. I like a bit of both.
As for the EP that the single will be featured on, I wanted to create a small project that reflects my mind currently. As my first official project, I wanted to create something realistic, authentic, and truly me. This whole EP conveys many feelings I have felt during my senior year of high school, featuring the highs and lows of a teenage mind. Teenagers are so complex, and I wanted to convey exactly that through this project.
The whole concept of not being “fazed“ is feeling as though nothing can hurt you anymore. I know that many of you reading this have experienced a time in your life where you have been hurt so much to the point where it feels as though it can’t get any worse…as if you simply can’t be fazed anymore. So, this project is simply that. It’s about survival.
Please tell us about your journey.
I have always felt as though music was everything to me. Through music I have been able to express myself in ways that I couldn’t through a conversation or a text message. The truth is, music is so so so powerful when you use it to spread a message to others. And through my music, I want to express how important I think it is to remain as yourself, to not let the outside world tell you how you should be, and I want people to feel as though they have music to run back to when their life seems to be going wrong.
I discovered music at a very young age, discovering Michael Jackson at the age of three and Lady Gaga at the age of five. Ever since I discovered these marvelous artists, I have wanted nothing more than to be just like them. And I know that I can’t be literally just like them, but there is no doubt that inspiration can do amazing things for an artist.
I taught myself strange ways to write music when I was little, so I have tons of journals filled with lyrics that four-year-old me used to write, thinking that they were good. But I will say that I admire the dedication that little Sara had to express her thoughts about dinosaurs and princesses.
Nowadays, I am slowly but surely figuring out who I want to be as a person and as an artist. I am writing music that reflects me as a person and me as a performer and conveys the messages I want to convey to the world. Whether it’s me using satire, irony, or just plainly expressing my displeasure towards a person, I feel that being real through your music is a really cool thing.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I have always stayed open to opinions and open to the thoughts of the people around me when I create music. I think a huge strategy to take into account while trying to reach success is to never forget where you came from, and never leave behind those who have supported you along the way.
I have so many group chats with friends where I just randomly drop little 30-second clips of stuff I’m working on, and immediately after I send those clips, I get spammed by complete and utter excitement and nonsense. It’s awesome. The people that I grew up with and have in my circle are my biggest supporters, and I personally think that getting anywhere is going to be tough if you don’t have the people you love.
Any message for our readers
If you or a loved one are going through a hard time, just remember that music will always be there to lift you up. And you might think I’m crazy right now, but I promise you that it’s true.
I cant help but to express through my music how amazing it is to be unique and simply yourself. Never give in to anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.
Simply listen to my music, and you’ll find out everything about me that you want to know. And don’t be afraid to reach out to me because I love meeting new people 🙂
Thank you so much, Sara Diana, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
