Shaynethecub, an emerging artist from Sacramento, is redefining the sounds of R&B and alternative pop with his unapologetically honest lyrics and unforgettable melodies. His latest single, “Wrong,” exemplifies this unique approach, blending heart-wrenching truths with a nostalgic yet fresh sound. Shaynethecub isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, and this fearlessness is resonating with a growing fanbase that appreciates his willingness to explore the deepest parts of his emotions in his music. Though he’s relatively new to the scene, having started his musical journey later in life, Shaynethecub is quickly proving himself to be a voice to be reckoned with.
His Latest Track: “Wrong”
Shaynethecub’s music is distinct in that it marries two powerful elements: catchy, melodic hooks and lyrics that are brutally honest. His latest track, “Wrong,” released on July 19, 2024, is the perfect representation of this fusion. Clocking in at 2 minutes and 43 seconds, the song packs an emotional punch that leaves listeners thinking long after it ends. Shaynethecub himself describes the song as both nostalgic and modern, a throwback to simpler times while being rooted in the raw, emotional realities of the present.
One of the hallmarks of Shaynethecub’s music is his unapologetic approach to songwriting. As he puts it, “I write with no apologies, and my songs scream it.” This is evident in “Wrong,” where he fearlessly tackles themes of love, mistakes, and self-reflection. There’s no attempt to sugarcoat the hard truths in his lyrics, which is exactly why his listeners find them so relatable. He’s able to capture the complexity of emotions in a way that’s both direct and deeply personal, and this authenticity sets him apart in the crowded music landscape.
What makes “Wrong” even more compelling is its blend of catchy hooks and profound lyrics. It’s not just a song that makes you think; it’s a song you want to keep playing over and over. This balance between emotional depth and musical accessibility is a rare find, but it’s a hallmark of Shaynethecub’s work. His best ability, as he sees it, is crafting melodies that people will remember, but it’s the combination of those melodies with gut-punch lyrics that makes his songs stick with you.
A Journey with a Purpose
Shaynethecub didn’t follow the typical trajectory of many musicians. He didn’t start singing or performing as a child. In fact, he didn’t begin taking vocal lessons until the age of 23. But rather than seeing this late start as a setback, Shaynethecub embraced it as an opportunity to grow. He began honing his craft under the guidance of his mentor, Bradley Walden, the lead singer of Emarosa. Together, they worked on finding Shaynethecub’s voice and shaping his sound, eventually discovering that his strength lay in the combination of R&B and alternative pop.
While many might see this as a difficult balance to maintain, Shaynethecub thrives on the challenge. He finds joy in creating music that speaks to the struggles and triumphs of life, especially for those who are also balancing multiple roles. For him, music is not just a creative outlet but a way to connect with others who may be experiencing similar journeys. He hopes that his songs can help people feel less alone in their struggles and more empowered to embrace their true selves.
Connecting with Listeners Through Raw Emotion
Shaynethecub’s music isn’t just about telling his story—it’s about connecting with others who may be going through similar experiences. One of his main goals is to build a fanbase that deeply relates to his music, not just for its sound but for its message. Songs like “Wrong” offer listeners a chance to reflect on their own lives, to see themselves in the lyrics, and to find comfort in knowing that someone else understands what they’re feeling.
“Wrong” is particularly effective in this regard because it taps into universal emotions like regret, longing, and self-realization. There’s a vulnerability in the song that invites listeners to be vulnerable as well. It’s not just a song you listen to—it’s a song you feel. And it’s that emotional resonance that draws people in and keeps them coming back for more.
For Shaynethecub, this connection with his audience is the most rewarding aspect of making music. He knows that his songs have the power to help people process their own emotions, to find peace in their own struggles, and to realize that they’re not alone.
The Road Ahead: Staying True to Himself
As Shaynethecub looks toward the future, he remains committed to staying true to his voice and his message. He’s focused on continuing to create music that is honest, raw, and emotionally resonant. He believes that by staying true to himself, he will continue to attract listeners who appreciate his unique approach to songwriting.
With “Wrong” gaining momentum and more people discovering his music, Shaynethecub is poised to make a lasting impact on the music industry. His blend of catchy melodies, raw lyrics, and unapologetic honesty sets him apart from other artists in the R&B and alternative pop genres. And as he continues to write and release more music, there’s no doubt that he will continue to connect with listeners on a deep, emotional level, solidifying his place as a voice that refuses to be ignored.
We had the privilege of interviewing the Music Artist; here are excerpts from the interview:
Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
I am actually a wealth manager for a large brokerage firm, but I also song-write for artists and myself as a passion. I started late in life at 23, and now, at 32, I have made music a constant part of what I do in my life. I’m a kid who grew up in an Indian household with two loving parents. Being born and brought up in America, there were differences, and I was able to share some of my story in music. Obviously, heartbreak and relationships were a big motive to start finding singing and songwriting as an outlet.
Please tell us about your Latest Single.
I just put out a song called “Wrong” that has gotten very positive feedback as it is brutally honest and relatable as it is catchy. Sonically the song really has a vibe that feels nostalgic as well as “damn he said that,” and yes, I mean it.
Please tell us about your journey.
I started taking vocal lessons at 23 and found my talent, so I took to find my voice and the genre of music I wanted to make, and now, in my later years, I am trying to find a way to find my audience. Having a fan base who can really connect with these songs, I think, could help a lot of people.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I stay consistent and keep writing, singing, and putting out songs of one person listening for 1 million. I just enjoy sharing what’s inside my head and emotionally what I was or am going through in the moment.
Any message for our readers
