JP’s Path to ACEL
JP has lived this acceleration in his own life. Born in Darwin, Australia, he was homeschooled and ended this stage of his journey as one of the top students in his state. This allowed him the opportunity to explore and follow his own curiosity, growing an interest in mathematics. At age 14, he got a private pilot’s license and also settled on a dream of flying planes and pursuing an astronaut career.
Then, Thor studied Aeronautical Engineering and graduated top of his class from the Air Force Academy. After this, he went into pilot training. While academically he excelled, his drive to always test boundaries and go faster put this into jeopardy. Despite the many challenges in his way, JP got the opportunity to fly planes around the world and served in the Air Force for 11 years.
His resignation was fraught, but it was worth it for what came next. Over the next few years, he committed fully to a blockchain project, which was a big commercial success. But while financially he was stable, emotionally, things were hard. Then, JP came across the Effective Accelerationism movement and was immediately interested. However, he decided that it needed a new brand, and then, ACEL was born.
