Celebrating Your Authenticity: Shine Without Limits
Do you ever find yourself softening your voice, hesitating to share your thoughts, or quietly dismissing your own achievements? You’re certainly not alone. In her empowering book, Thank You, I Deserve It, M.A. Al Hebsi encourages readers to break free from these subtle patterns of self-minimization and fully embrace their genuine selves without hesitation or apology.
As an Emirati woman who masterfully blends her engineering expertise with spiritual wisdom, Al Hebsi intimately understands the challenges of standing authentically in one’s light. Her personal journey serves as an inspiring foundation for readers who often feel torn between expressing themselves fully and fitting comfortably within societal expectations. Through heartfelt anecdotes and insightful reflections, she invites you to see your qualities not as liabilities, but as remarkable gifts worth honoring.
Recognizing and Valuing Your Unique Talents

Throughout the book, Al Hebsi shares powerful stories that illustrate how society subtly encourages us to hide or diminish our true selves. Perhaps you’ve toned down your confidence to avoid appearing too assertive, or shrugged off compliments to deflect attention. Through insightful questions and practical exercises, she helps readers uncover and challenge these ingrained behaviors, paving the way toward true self-acceptance and joy.
Facing Social Pressures with Courage and Compassion
One distinctive strength of Thank You, I Deserve It is its thoughtful exploration of societal and cultural pressures that can stifle self-expression. Al Hebsi tackles sensitive issues like beauty biases, workplace dynamics, and female competition with wisdom and empathy. She offers concrete strategies for dealing gracefully with external judgments, encouraging readers to remain authentic even when facing discomfort or opposition.
The book provides clear guidance on how to communicate your boundaries effectively without compromising your authenticity. Al Hebsi emphasizes the importance of compassion—both toward yourself and others—highlighting that strength lies in gently asserting your value without apology or hesitation. Her approach empowers readers to navigate difficult interactions confidently, transforming potential conflicts into opportunities for growth and deeper connections.
Inspiring Others by Embracing Yourself
Al Hebsi’s vision extends beyond individual empowerment. She passionately advocates that when you confidently embrace your gifts, you inadvertently encourage others around you to do the same. This creates a positive, uplifting ripple effect, enhancing not only your life but the lives of those in your community.
By demonstrating self-assurance and genuine confidence, you inspire others to explore and express their unique qualities. This collective empowerment becomes a powerful catalyst for meaningful change, creating a supportive environment where authenticity thrives.
The transformative affirmation—”Thank you, I deserve it”—plays a crucial role in this journey. Rather than being a mere phrase, it’s a powerful practice that shifts your mindset from hesitation to wholehearted acceptance. Al Hebsi guides readers to regularly use this affirmation, making self-acknowledgment an integral, natural part of everyday life.
Permission to Fully Express Your Brilliance
If you’ve ever felt conflicted about fully claiming your talents or feared judgment for standing out, Thank You, I Deserve It offers a transformative perspective. Al Hebsi’s approachable style, filled with relatable experiences and practical wisdom, gently guides readers toward embracing their full potential with courage and joy.
Throughout the book, readers find encouragement to celebrate their uniqueness openly and proudly. Al Hebsi emphasizes that your strengths and abilities aren’t burdens to be hidden—they are powerful gifts meant to enrich your life and positively influence those around you.
Ultimately, Al Hebsi invites you to step boldly into your authenticity, shedding the limitations you’ve previously accepted. Your brilliance isn’t something to be muted; it’s a source of strength and inspiration deserving full acknowledgment. Embrace this powerful truth, stand confidently in your light, and say proudly: “Thank you, I deserve it.”
We had the privilege of interviewing the author. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Thank you so much for joining us today!
Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
I’m Mouza Alhebsi, an Emirati engineer and author of “Thank You, I Deserve It: Embracing Your Gifts Without Apology.” I work in a specialized engineering field where women are rare, which taught me about navigating spaces that expect you to fragment yourself to fit in. Now I help people—especially women—embrace their complete selves without apology, showing them they can be both beautiful and brilliant, successful and spiritual.
Please tell us about your journey.
My journey began when I realized I’d spent years diminishing myself to make others comfortable. As someone with both beauty and technical expertise, I constantly heard comments like “How did someone so pretty end up in engineering?” So I fragmented myself—dimming my appearance to be taken seriously professionally, and downplaying my expertise socially.
The turning point came after attending an “Authentic Speaker” course. I sat with myself and realized that by diminishing my gifts to appease others’ insecurities, I wasn’t serving anyone. That reflection led to writing my book—understanding that our wholeness isn’t threatening, it’s healing.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The Sacred Pause: Before reacting to others’ assumptions, I learned to pause and respond from wisdom rather than emotion.
Reframing My Gifts: I stopped seeing my qualities as conflicting and started understanding them as complementary expressions of divine energy.
Understanding Triggers: When people reacted negatively to my gifts, I learned their response revealed their wounds, not my unworthiness.
Practicing “Thank You, I Deserve It”: These five words rewired my brain from unworthiness to deservingness.
Integration Over Balance: Instead of compartmentalizing myself, I practiced allowing all my qualities to exist simultaneously.
Any message for our readers
You were born worthy—by design. Stop apologizing for your light and stop fragmenting yourself to fit others’ expectations. Your complete, authentic self isn’t too much—it’s exactly what the world needs.
Whether you’re blessed with beauty, intelligence, creativity, or any other gift—embrace them fully. Your gifts aren’t random; they reflect energy you’ve cultivated throughout your soul’s journey.
To young women: refuse the false choices society imposes. Be both beautiful and brilliant, ambitious and kind. Your abundance doesn’t create others’ lack—when you shine, you reveal what’s possible for everyone.
Say it with me: “Thank you. I deserve it.”
Thank you so much, Mouza Alhebsi, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
