Please tell us something about yourself.
As a young upcoming artist, I think I have done so many good songs. People have shown hate, love, and people that didn’t love you for who you are until you became who you are.
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.
I always had a dream of becoming well known. Going through my childhood, I was surrounded by family drama, school drama, and police drama. When I found out about expressing my feelings through music, I told my closest friend about it. He told me to give it a shot. After 1 year passed by, a horrible accident happened to my friend, he was shot dead in front of my eyes. Working in the studio, I have always put feelings into my music about what I have been through and what I have seen.
Who are your role models?
Some of my role models are my two friends Jody and T; they may Rest In Peace.
What inspires you?
Something that inspires me is making sure everyone gets a plate to eat.
Please tell us about your stage name.
Something about my stage name “yhung.sammy” is that I came up with that because I’m young, and my middle name is Sammy.
What’s your most memorable experience?
One of my memorable experiences was when I worked with radio stations and other artists to make sure we came out with something relatable, heartfelt, or heart touching.
Which social media channels work best for promoting your work?
I am on Instagram and YouTube. My advice towards other artists would be that Instagram and YouTube are the best places to build a fan base.
What’s your greatest fear?
One of my greatest fear is snakes you bring one close to me, you are getting rocked.
Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
I wish I understood hate, a lot of people hold grudges against this world. There is a section of people who don’t want to see you win, a lot of people who don’t want to see you eat. You just gotta live up to it and make sure you stay shining.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Some of the strategies are when you make a song, don’t “cap” in your music. Many rappers talk about guns and stuff, which they really don’t do or stuff about banging. Most of the songs like those end up being a flop and have no hate for the people who went through this. But the pain in lyrics is the best music.
Any message for our readers.
