We had the pleasure of interviewing M.J. Marin, Author of The Book of Morrigan. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about yourself.
Hi, I am a new fantasy and supernatural writer. I love stories about werewolves, myths, and adventures!
Please tell us about your book, The Book of Morrigan.
The Book of Morrigan is about the struggle of a young college student involved in an ancient feud between two Irish clans; between the descendants of a clan of werewolves and the descendants of a clan of druids who bring their fight to the present day to possess the most powerful book of spells, The Book of Morrigan.
A destiny he never asked for. A legacy he can't escape.
After surviving a mysterious childhood tragedy, Sean Walsh has worked hard to focus on his future. At just twenty-three, he has his entire life mapped out: A doctorate in history from Dublin's prestigious Trinity College and a long, fulfilling career spent exploring dusty archives and sprawling libraries. It's no surprise he has a passion for uncovering the past, given his own is shrouded in so much secrecy. A mother killed in inexplicable circumstances. A bereft father with blood on his hands. And beneath the fragmented memories of that time, even darker secrets. Whispers of ancient clans, violent curses, howling wolf-men, and everlasting life—stories too surreal to be believed.
When Sean meets Keira, it seems his careful plans have led him to happiness far greater than he ever dreamed. But his family's legacy is more than just an emotional scar; it's written into his blood. If he doesn't face his destiny, Sean could be consumed by the darkness he abhors and destroy the one person he cares for most.
What inspired you to write this book, The Book of Morrigan?
I started writing this book in 2016. The idea came to me with this sentence “protect the book with your life.” Based on that, I developed the whole story years later.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
The most important advice that I have for other writers is: to write. Don't get caught up in self-doubt. If you have a story to tell, just tell it. Get it down on paper as it comes to you; you'll review it later. Writing for most of us is not a gift; it is a must; we have these stories and characters in our minds that need to get out to the world.
Any message for our readers?
I hope you will like the story as much as I enjoyed writing it!
Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
