Child of Dawn is an epic fantasy story that offers readers a unique universe populated with elves and vampires, a combination that is rather unusual for fantasy and offers readers a distinctive flavor. It is set in The Vale, a place where these two types of fantastical creatures have been vying for superiority for thousands and thousands of years. But in a world where even interacting is forbidden for the two species, an elf and a vampire will fall in love, and, as a result, a child will be born.
Child of Dawn tells the story of Dagsbrún, the son of a forbidden romance. In the Vale, he is raised by his elven grandfather, but there are things that the world can’t ignore. He is hunted but never killed, and his need for blood often drives him in a way that makes him think like a monster. Tormented, Dagsbrún lives his life in this manner until his servant fetches a girl, a girl who is different and also rejected by the world because of who she is.
Anda is a new character who enters Dagsbrún’s life, the daughter of a human man and an elven woman, who gave her the magic that others perceive to be a curse. Anda lacks control, and, to make matters worse, she crosses over into the human world without meaning to. As she is fleeing, she runs to Dagsbrún’s home. As she arrives, Gammel, Dagsbrún’s grandfather, reveals to the both of them that they are two parts of a prophecy. The both of them now must save the Vale from a terrible fate, a feat only they can accomplish. Anda now must work to gain control of her magic, while Dagsbrún has to face his own fears and demons. Through a journey of the realm inhabited by elves and vampires, a realm that can be ethereal and dark, they must learn to love and discover their destiny. This is a read sure to thrill fans of fantasy and fantasy romance.
Child of Dawn is sure to interest fans of fantasy, in particular, those partial to the works of C.S. Lewis. With a distinctive tone and a lot of thrilling twists and turns, with exciting characters and a deep central conflict, the story offers an amazing journey through a world that’s not our own.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Leslie Anne Lee. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi Leslie, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about yourself.
Hello, my name is Leslie Lee, and I am a bit of a Jack (or Jill) of all trades. As you can see, I am a writer – my passion is fiction, but I also work as a writer for various different entities. I also am a licensed event coordinator, work for a CPA firm, and am a full-time mother and caretaker.
Please tell us about your journey.
My love affair with the written word began at the age of six. I first scrawled stories on wide lined paper, then typed them on my parent’s prehistoric computer. Upon graduating with a BA in English and an MA in Literary Humanities, I have continued to type, now on a laptop. I see stories like films played in my head. My love affair continues to this day with the words I type. I have self-published three other novels, a children’s book, and a non-fiction retrospect of religious life growing up in a conservative church. Early on in my adult writing career, I was recognized for my poetry with several awards and have had the honor of having one of my poems published in a state-wide poem anthology. I have also won recognition for a few of my short stories.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Perseverance. When I was in high school, I was teased because people thought being a writer was lame. My English teacher, Mr. Stobbe (a modern-day Mr. Chips), pushed me to believe in myself and my talent. Without him, I would have given up. My first book made 80 cents, but I kept on writing. My second and third books were critiqued, and I almost gave up. But I kept pursuing the love I had for the written word. I believe in the power of language, imagery, and imagination, and I want to share that beauty with a world that is so very lost in ugliness and sadness.
Any message for our readers?
Always believe in the magic within you, and look for it around you. You will find it.
