Today, we are Interviewing Dexter Whinfield who is a Christian pastor and leads a congregation in his community. He is an influencer, he inspires people to go after their goals and achieve whatever they desire in life, albeit, in fear of God, love for others, and helping others. So, let's hear his story.
1. How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?
I started this journey (Pastor / Influencer) back in 2008, and it was something that just happened in the moment. Being specific, I was really frustrated with my life, my life had hit rock bottom, and I needed help to get out of my misery. I tried other things but to no avail. Then, in my grieve and frustration, I found inspiration in reading the Bible, and I saw the light. Everything changed from then on, and I wanted to help others who were facing hard times in life. So, that’s how I got started with this journey.
2. Who are your role models?
Myles Monroe, he died in a plane crash, but he inspired me to keep doing what I do. But more importantly, he taught me how I can earn an income while doing what I love.
3. What inspires you?
As mentioned earlier, I was inspired by reading the Bible. God’s words showed me that I can achieve anything in life. And given that I was frustrated at the time and my life had hit rock bottom, that inspired me.
4. Please tell us about your blog
I’m an influencer, I inspire people, and in addition to pastoring a church, I run a Christian blog where I talk about word of God. I post articles on my blog about living a successful life, whether Christian or not, I write to inspire you.
5. What’s your most memorable experience?
When I was introduced to blogging, I joined HubPages, posted an article, and received heart whelming replies from persons stating how blessed, inspired and encouraged they were after reading my post. I will never forget that.
6. How are you using different social media channels/online marketing to market your work?
I rely on Facebook, mainly because of its ease of use, and the fact that millions of people use Facebook. When I finish writing a post, I simply share it to my Facebook profile, and then others will share it also.
7. What’s your greatest fear?
SEO, let’s face it, you can be as inspirational in writing as anyone else, but if you
cannot appease Google, you will not be seen. And that’s my greatest fear: “if Google decides not
to recognize my work.
8. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
SEO, had I understood this, my blog could have been viewed by thousands of persons.
Which, by the way, is one of my goals.
9. What are the success strategies that helped you in your journey?
I use my life experiences to craft articles, and subject matters that I know will grab
people’s attention. In my writing, my strategy is to grab people’s emotions, I write to their
emotion. And that has been my strategy for the longest while.
10. What keeps you going when things get tough?
My faith in God of course, but besides that, my family, and my goal of making a living
doing what I do. One day I hope my blog will generate a substantial income for me and my
family.
11. How can people connect with you?
Via Facebook and, or Twitter, in addition to following my blog.
12. Any message for our readers…
