Today, we are Interviewing Alysia Kaempf, aka Hardbodybarbie. She is a fitness model, trainer, and entrepreneur. An MIT graduate with a degree in business, her love for health and wellness deepened her curiosity in researching herbal medicine and its natural benefits for the human body. Thus, this triggered her desire to develop a healthier version of energy drink, HBE Energy.
She has been in the health industry for years. It was at age 14 that she joined her first gym membership to Bally Total Fitness that spurred her passion for fitness and health. At an early age, she was able to develop consistency, discipline, dedication, and drive, which has helped her today in her business as well. With this foundation and years of training, she has learned how to completely transform and sculpt her own body to the highest level of fitness.
Let’s hear about her successful and inspirational journey.
1. How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?
I have always had an interest in health and fitness from a young age. I loved to cook and bake. But at the time, I noticed there weren’t any options for many healthy tasting protein bars. So I started creating my own at home. I came up with bakery protein desserts called leash cakes, which were protein cookies and protein cupcakes. People loved them. I decided to see if I could sell them. I went to local gyms and local shops and sold them there.
Hardbody Energy (HBE) started when I moved from Massachusetts to the West Coast. I decided on creating my own because, for one, I have always been into energy drinks, but I never really enjoyed the flavor, and also I wanted to create a healthier option. So that’s when HBE was born.
2. Who are your role models?
My role model is my mentor and best friend. He has taught me so much about business, life, having a good work ethic, and the importance of confidence and practice. I owe a lot of my success and growth to him.
3. What inspires you?
What inspires me is people helping people and lifting others to succeed.
4. Please tell us about your Company Hardbody Energy and Energy Drinks.
HBE Energy Drink stands for Hardbody Energy. What we did with HBE was lower the caffeine to 116 mg and bump up the B vitamins, which gives you clean, healthy energy. Studies show significant amounts of caffeine cause high blood pressure, anxiety disorders, etc. but B vitamins help energy production, boost metabolism, and brain function. We also have lower sugar in our regular and zero sugar in the sugar-free. We also have zero aftertaste and no crash or jitters but still packs a punch. Lots of our customers use our energy drink as a pre-workout.
Hardbody Energy is a company that is based out of Las Vegas, NV, established in 2018. The goal of the company is to manufacture healthy products. The company structure is comprised of a variety of strong women and is one of the very few energy beverage companies that are run by women for the different communities.
5. What’s your most memorable experience?
My most memorable experience was when I took a leap of faith and decided to pack up all my belongings and move across the country by myself to the west coast. It was the scariest and most exciting time for me – definitely an important and life-changing decision.
6. How are you using different social media channels/online marketing to market your product?
I use my personal Instagram to market my product along with many great influencer ambassadors that joined the HBE team along with Facebook ads, Google ads, and affiliate marketing.
7. What’s your greatest fear?
I have many fears. But that can’t stop you in life. You have to make yourself uncomfortable and go against your fears to conquer them. But One fear that gets me the most is staying the same and never growing. Because if you aren’t growing, you’re dying.
8. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
The struggles of starting a business, but I wouldn’t change a thing because through all the mistakes I made along the way, I learned from them and helped me in the long run.
9. What are the success strategies/secrets that helped you in your journey?
Perseverance never giving up and always believing in yourself.
