Today, we have the pleasure of Interviewing Anjali Sanghvi. She is a Microblading Expert, Celebrity Makeup, and Semi-Permanent Makeup Artist from Bangalore. She has been internationally trained from London, Dubai, and Singapore. Let's get inspired by her Success Story!
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a method to achieve perfectly shaped brows. It has become a rage among top Hollywood celebrities, from Helen Mirren to Mila Kunis and Serena Williams. It is a semi-permanent tattoo technique that involves the implantation of a semi-permanent pigment into the skin. It helps you achieve your #BrowGoals.
What is the difference between Microblading & tattooing your brows?
Oh, Microblading and tattooing your brows are a lot different from each other. Microblading gives you more of a natural look as we follow the flow of your natural hair strokes to give you the desired shape. In Microblading, we use a manual pen vs. a machine to give us more control. Tattooing goes deeper into your skin into the dermal layer, whereas Microblading ink just goes into the epidermal layer of your skin.
What is the procedure like?
Your Microblading starts with a consultation, following which we draw an outline for you to match your face type. Once the brows have been mapped, a numbing cream is used and left for about 20-25 mins. The color is mixed, matching your natural brows, and a fresh needle is opened to start your procedure. The pain varies according to your tolerance level. I have had clients sleep through the procedure, and I have also had clients who stop me every 5 mins. Numbing cream is applied repeatedly throughout the procedure to make the process easier for you.
How long does it take to do, and how long does it last for?
Microblading brows generally takes about 90mins – 2 hours, including the numbing time. It requires 1 touch up session 40 days post the treatment. The touch up is to mainly darken the brows and to correct any shape adjustments that you have. Once your 2nd session is complete, you can expect the Microblading to last for about 18-20 months.
What is the average pricing like?
The prices varies according to the shape and size you are going for generally. It also depends on the city and the experience of the stylist. As this is a tattoo that is going to stay there for a long time, it is recommended to do your research and go to a good experienced certified artist and not have the price as the main factor when looking for cosmetic tattooing.
Who should avoid this?
Pregnant women – Your estrogen levels are high during pregnancy, which might cause you to bleed more during microblading. Hence this is not suggested to anyone going through pregnancy. Diabetic patients – The healing takes longer with diabetic patients; hence it is recommended to avoid getting any tattooing done. Anyone allergic to ink, metal, or aesthetics.
Are your services just in Bangalore?
My base is in Bangalore, but I travel all around the country and collaborate with various salons & studios to provide their clients with services. The details of my travel are always updated either on my website or Instagram. I make trips every alternate month to ensure the touch-up sessions are also scheduled for all the clients.
Where can people find you?
