Today, we are interviewing Richard Hernandez, the founder and co-host of the Lets Taco About It Podcast. Let us hear about his podcasting journey!
Please tell us something about yourself.
I am a big believer in doing what makes you happy, regardless of what others think, or the fear that might come from trying things out.
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?
I had the idea of starting a podcast years ago and never really pulled the trigger, and one day I said why not today. I went on my Instagram and polled my friends, and more people said yes than no, and so my journey began. I bought a desktop, my microphone and found a hosting site that day!
Who are your role models?
For podcasting without a doubt it would have to be Joe Rogan, the man is brilliant, but what I love most about him is that he is open-minded, every episode he wants to learn something new and is not afraid to speak to other who have opposing thoughts. It is always about having a conversation and growing from it!
What inspires you?
The unknown. I do not know everything, and that inspires me to go out and learn more things about new things. Trying to put together small portions of this incredible thing we call life.
Please tell us about your Podcast.
I am the founder and co-host of the Lets Taco About It Podcast! A place where we can sit down with others and talk about their story, their life and hopefully come out learning something new and helping others realize that we are all a bit more common than we realize.
What's your most memorable experience?
I have been lucky enough to be able to travel to a couple places in the world. Without a doubt, one of the greatest memories will be solo traveling to Spain for 5 days to watch El Classico! Not only was it an amazing game, where Messi wins it with a last-second goal. Traveling by yourself helps you come to understand who you are as a person!
Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?
Instagram, to me, is the social media I use the most and where I can share and promote my life and work. The phrase “A picture is worth more than one thousand words” speaks to me that I can post a picture and remember everything that led to that picture being created.
What's your greatest fear?
I don't fear much if anything is losing a family member.
Looking back, what's one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
Life, lol. It's all truth. I wish I understood what really mattered before it all got started, so I would not stress about the small stuff and enjoy certain moments more. Also pizza, it is delicious, but man, it takes a toll on your body lol.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Living without fear of what others might think or say. I feel we live in a moment where many of our decisions are based on other's thoughts or opinions. When you can break free from though thought and just do something four yourself, that is when you can grow and succeed.
What keeps you going when things get tough?
Knowing that life is long and one way or another, I will get by. I have already lived through some tough times, and sometimes one lasts longer than the other, but eventually, you will get past it.
Any message for our readers.
Enjoy life, make memories because, at the end of the day, that is the only thing we will be able to take when it is all said and done. Oh and check out our Podcast :).
