Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing King Cupid. King Cupid, also known as Ellis Lonne Peal IV, is a rapper and social media influencer based in Chicago.
Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us something about yourself.
I am an up-and-coming LGBT artist straight out of Chicago. I embrace sexuality and love in my music and make music that moves people.
What first got you into music? Who or what inspired you to make music?
I first started singing in high school. I also wrote R&B songs a lot, but even though I was busy in my songwriting, that didn’t stop me from beefing, so I ended up talking myself into a rap war with a rival artist who was mostly a rapper. I had a battle with him with a diss track, and I went harder. I started getting more buzz for my diss track than my R&B sound, so I made more rap songs to test the water. Now, look where I am!
How would you describe the music that you typically create? What is your creative process like?
I would describe my music as sexy, freaky, and nasty. My creative process is my life experience, and I lived the bad bitch lifestyle.
Can you tell us more about your new project, ‘Double Take?’ What is it about?
‘Double Take’ is personally my hyped-on song in the album and not because it’s my only song with a solo. The catchy hook with the hard bars will make your feet move.
If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be and why?
I would love to open up for Kidd Kenn because we both have high-energy personalities that we can bring on stage that would have the whole place busting.
What would you be doing right now if it wasn’t for your music career?
I would still be doing me and probably be in a lot of crime due to not wanting to be famous and show a better image of myself.

If you could change anything about the music industry, what would it be?
I wish for more opportunities for new artists to show their talent more than successful artists. People want to hear new sounds, not the same hit artists’ song playing 300 times on the radio.
What’s next for you?
More music! If you thought the ‘Thirst Trap’ season was over, then you’re wrong. I would say 2022 is a big year for the angles (fans).
How can people find out more about you or connect with you?

Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
