We had the pleasure of interviewing PEP, an Artist, Songwriter, and Musician. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi PEP, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your journey.
Hi, I’m from Bronx, New York, and I’ve been writing music for over a decade now. I rap/sing and play 3 Instruments, Drums, Piano and guitar. I was dormant in music for the past six years because I was incarcerated, but I’ve just released three new songs from November last year and two in January. My songs are receiving great reviews, and I’m releasing a lot of music this year so stay tuned.
Please tell us about your music projects.
Well, I just released two new singles first one is called “On A Wave,” which dropped on Friday, 1/20/23, and it’s a really chill vibe that’s talking about me being in my own lane doing my own thing and not following nobody else. “On A Wave” already has 40k streams on Audiomack in just a few days and is on pace to hit 50k Streams in just 10 days.
The 2nd Single is called “Buss It,” and that dropped on Monday the 23rd, and that’s a song that was recorded last year and received a lot of hype, but I chose to release it this year because I wanted the production to be right! “Buss It” is about hustling to make it in life and what you gonna do when you finally make it big. You gonna buss that money up and LIVE LAVISH!!!!
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey? Consistency and Confidence! Even when I was locked up, I kept on writing music and getting better at my craft. Even when I’m broke and have no money to make music, I never stop writing. No matter what, if you truly believe in yourself and the gifts/talents you possess, then just keep going and trust the process; it will work itself out. I know how to actually make good music from start to finish, incorporating catchy hooks, dope lyrics with metaphors, etc. So, I never let my situation or circumstances deter me or discourage me. My self-confidence never wavered one bit. I always knew I could be as big as all the top rappers out there, so I kept on going. I know it sounds cliche but never give up. When you lock in on your vision and goals and prepare yourself mentally, and envision it, then the universe will align with your mindset, and things will start coming to fruition!
