For those who do not know you, please tell us about yourself.
Hey there, my name is Troy Bronson, and I follow my dreams for a living. I'm an author and a professional photographer. I've worked as a location scout for films, and I've done diverse photography genres. I worked for a few years doing that, so I can finance my education. I am currently studying at the University of California, Berkeley majoring in Media Studies with the hope of gaining the needed knowledge to succeed in art. As a producer, other media-related jobs I'm yet to discover and continue doing with what I love.
Let us know about your passion and why did you choose this field?
My passion is bringing my ideas into reality. I'm a visionary and love working either alone or with other creative humans to materialize art projects, photoshoots, short films, etc.
Great, What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far?
I've done location scouting for Oscar-nominated director Bastien Dubois who did Madagascar, definitely a highlight in my career.
What's the biggest factor that has helped you be successful?
Not listening to small-minded people and close relatives or friends who sometimes think something cant be achievable.
What are your success habits?
Listening to people who are experts in their art field and making notes about what drives them and applying their experiences for my own good and growth.
What mistakes have you made along the way?
Thinking I'm not ready for a project or opportunity for lacking some skills I think I need for the job. In reality, accepting a task and going with the flow will give me those new skills.
What was the hardest decision you ever had to make?
Choosing my college UC Berkeley and having to move from Santa Monica, LA all the way to Northern California, where it is foggy and cold. So, I partially had to pause work since, in Berkeley, there's not much going photography wise, Film or TV. It is not the same as it is down in Southern California. But just like everything in life, everything is temporary 🙂
What is the best advice you would like to give?
Don't get in your own way.
What is your favorite quote?
Real generosity towards the feature lies in giving all to the present by Albert Camus.
