Today, we are Interviewing Jim Jacob, who is a Podcaster and lives in South Carolina with his wife and 3 young boys. Let’s hear his story!
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.
I’ve been telling bedtime stories to my boys every night since they were babies. Every night they help me come up with a fun idea for a short story like “how about one about a boy who was a spy and had to stop purple ninjas from stealing donuts.” Then, on the spot, I create a fun story. My wife told me to start recording them because the kids were asking for them in the car and when I was gone. Since then, the podcast has exploded.
Our listeners (mostly kids ages 3-7) send in their idea for a story to either our website www.kidsshortstories.org or our Instagram page. Over the summer, I plan to do 3-4 stories every week!
I love helping kids grow their imagination and learn how fun story-telling can be. Many of my listeners have parents who are now working from home, and I get messages all the time from happy parents who now have something for their kids to listen to while they work. They also love that its only audio and not screen time.
Any message for our readers.
