Some stories unfold loudly, while others build their strength through atmosphere and character. Rude Boy USA Trilogy belongs firmly in the second group. First released in 2015, this crime driven series offers a sharp look at ambition, loyalty, and reinvention within a world shaped by image, influence, and consequence. Written by Victoria Bolton, the trilogy invites readers into a carefully constructed universe where past choices continue to shape every future move.
At the heart of the series stands John LeBlanc, a former mob figure whose life stretches far beyond street level crime. His journey touches business, media, family, and politics, creating a layered narrative that evolves naturally across the books. Each installment builds on the last, allowing the story to mature without losing momentum.
A New Kind of Crime Story
The opening novel, Rude Boy USA, immediately sets itself apart through tone and structure. Rather than leaning on familiar mob stereotypes, the book introduces the Chimera Group, a modern crime organization inspired by Jamaican Rude Boy culture. Style plays an important role here. Clothing, attitude, and presentation all signal the group’s desire for recognition and power. Their image is polished, confident, and deliberate.
Bernie Banks leads the Chimera Group with a long-term vision. A war veteran of Jewish and Greek heritage, he starts small and steadily builds a multimillion-dollar operation hidden behind a legitimate investment company. John LeBlanc operates at the center of this rise, working alongside associates Ben and Jerome. Together, they push the organization toward greater influence while navigating rival families and internal tension.
Personal relationships complicate everything. When private desires begin crossing professional boundaries, loyalty is tested. Victoria allows these moments to breathe, giving readers insight into how ambition reshapes trust. The result is a crime novel that feels grounded in character rather than spectacle. Recognition followed quickly, with Rude Boy USA earning major awards in crime fiction and drama.
Growth and Risk in BunnyWine
The second installment, BunnyWine, shifts the series in a meaningful way. John LeBlanc steps away from crime, determined to rebuild his life on legitimate ground. He relocates to Jamaica with Celia “Bunny” Jones, and together they create a wine brand inspired by her personal rise. The business represents possibility and renewal, offering John a chance to redefine his legacy.

That chance comes with pressure. Prosecutor Mario Pasquale remains focused on dismantling the remnants of the Chimera Group. His pursuit reaches across borders and relies on old connections that refuse to fade. When one former associate cooperates, violence resurfaces, and the illusion of safety begins to crumble.
Bunny’s perspective adds emotional depth. She confronts expectations she once held about life with John and discovers realities she never anticipated. The novel balances suspense with reflection, showing how reinvention often carries unseen costs. Victoria deepens the emotional stakes here, allowing readers to connect with the characters beyond their criminal pasts.
Power Reimagined in The Tide is High
The Tide is High brings the trilogy full circle while opening the door to something larger. John returns to New York City with political ambitions that place him squarely in the public spotlight. The Chimera Group resurfaces in a quieter form, operating through influence, philanthropy, and strategic alliances. Power now moves behind closed doors and through public perception.

Mario Pasquale reenters the story as a political opponent, shifting the conflict from courtrooms to campaigns. Media becomes a central force through journalist Paul Aaron, whose investigation threatens to expose buried truths. The tension feels sharper here, driven by reputation and credibility rather than street level violence.
This book serves as the anchor for the upcoming spinoff series, laying groundwork for future conflicts while delivering a satisfying escalation of stakes. Victoria expands the scope without losing focus, trusting readers to follow the evolving dynamics of influence and ambition.
The Author and Her Creative Path
Victoria Bolton lives in New York and brings a distinctive blend of experiences to her writing. She began her writing journey in 1999 and published her first book before taking time away from the craft. Her return came through a vivid sequence of dreams influenced by television dramas, Ska and Punk music, and sharp visual style. That fusion shaped the tone of Rude Boy USA.

Outside of writing, Victoria works as a computer technician in schools and performs as a part-time actress. These roles contribute to her grounded dialogue and strong sense of character. She is currently developing Scions of Legacy, a spinoff series launching in February 2026 that expands the political dimension of the Rude Boy USA universe.
Why the Series Endures
Rude Boy USA stands out because it treats reinvention as a complex, ongoing process. Through John LeBlanc’s evolving path, the trilogy explores how ambition shapes identity and how the past resists erasure. Victoria Bolton delivers a crime saga that feels authentic, thoughtful, and lasting, leaving readers eager to follow the universe into its next chapter.
We had the privilege of interviewing the author. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Victoria Bolton. I am a writer by night, a technology teacher by day.
Please tell us about your journey.
I started writing in 1999 and published my first book, Looking for Mr. Potential, under my middle and last name. It was my first experience in book writing, but I had an interesting story in my head that needed to get out. I didn’t publish anything else until 2014. Rude Boy USA was a dream that I had one night that turned into a series of dreams over two weeks. Don’t know what triggered it, but at the time, I was obsessing over the shows Mad Men and House of Cards. I was also into Ska/Punk and got the idea from a song from the Specials called Gangsters. I took the style of Ska/Mad Men and put together a story. The subsequent books are just the continuation of the story/universe. The spinoff book coming in February 2026 is Scions of Legacy, it’s my version of House of Cards, but applied to the Rude Boy USA universe.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Talk to people, and advertise. There is work behind publishing. Unless you are world-renowned, stories need a push to sell themselves.
Any message for our readers
Write what your heart feels. My first book, published in 2000, received mixed reviews, primarily because the cover was polarizing, but those who did read it enjoyed it. Please don’t go into it for a quick buck. Make sure you love your story. If you were the only person ever to read it, would you defend it, one, five, or even ten years later?
Thank you so much, Victoria, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
