My name is Dr. Carolina Umanzor. I am a leading holistic dentist committed to biological, metal-free dentistry and whole-body wellness in El Salvador. AURA The Holistic Dental Clinic was born as a result of my ancestral roots of indigenous Mayan, from which I trace part of my DNA. The other part is Salvadorena (Spain colony). My love for nature and plant-based medicines helped me evolve to where I am today.
I have been in dentistry for more than 10 years and have always loved it since I was a child, but in the last few years, I felt something was off in traditional dentistry and healthcare. It was almost like it wasn’t evolving as fast as we, the people, need it to be. And now it seems like our educational curriculum is becoming outdated with how fast technology is evolving. It was time to step into the known and uncover what many people and I are craving. That’s when I stepped out of the traditional dentistry pathways and discovered this growing global standard of biodentistry, and started studying and practicing it here in El Salvador. The results were tremendous in discovering how hungry people are for this kind of care. Fear, reactive, and toxins seemed like the norm. My heart urged care beyond the mouth, and that is when everything started to get so much more exciting again, and my passion for dentistry is more than ever, like when I was a child again.
