JP Rick has been making quite a splash in the music scene since he began releasing material a year ago. His first release came out in September 2023 with the single Less, which was soon followed by a music video. The track received a warm welcome and helped the artist establish himself as a musician to watch out for. Now, Rick is bringing new projects and new releases.
What does the public need to know about JP Rick?
Well, there are a few basics. I come from NYC. I have loved music since I was a kid. I would go further and say that I have loved all types of art since I was little. As an adult, I usually introduce myself as a creative because I believe this is the right word to describe me. Creativity has always been important to me.
What have you been doing this past year? What’s coming next?
Well, I started in music last year, too. In September, I had the first anniversary of this decision, and I couldn’t be more amazed at everything that’s been accomplished. My first single was Less. Now, I am working on a whole variety of projects to complement what has been done. I hope that listeners get to see the fruits of my labor and enjoy what’s coming.
The latest single I released was Arizona, inspired by my journey to this gorgeous place. However, now I am working on other projects. Soon, I will be releasing Prometheus, and I’m thrilled with this, as it’s going to be my first EP. Before I set Prometheus free, however, there will be a few surprises on the way. I will be dropping several singles and music videos for tracks like Roll and Bag. There is going to be a lot of new music to enjoy!
You’ve come a long way in just a year. What helped you?
Hard work. I believe that persevering and being consistent in your practice is what makes you improve. So this is what I have been doing. I do think this is the key: you don’t get better unless you practice. I agree totally with the idea that “practice makes perfect.” I can see this as being true in my case. I have evolved in every possible way since I began applying myself.
Besides this, I couldn’t make music unless I loved it, and I do. It’s been a lifelong passion, and I am glad that I finally made the choice to focus on this particular talent. I believe also that people who do something they don’t love are not living fully; even if they are alive, they are not enjoying life. I hope everyone can discover what makes them feel alive.
Where can listeners find you online?
They can check out my YouTube channel (JP Rick). In general, I’m on social media under that name, but I am especially active on Instagram @jprick77, so they can hit me up there. Check out my music and music videos too!
Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
