My name is Brandon Hixson. I’m a recording artist, songwriter, and worship pastor based in Texas. Along with writing and recording original music, I also love creating visual art and album concepts that help tell the story behind the songs.
Please tell us about your journey.
Music has always been deeply connected to my life and memories. I grew up surrounded by family stories, old records, and the emotional power of songs that could instantly transport you back to a moment in time. Over the years, I’ve released music independently while balancing ministry, family, and creative projects.
My journey hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned that some of the most meaningful art comes from real-life experiences — loss, hope, relationships, and the things we carry with us. My newest album, The Things We Leave Behind, reflects a lot of that heart and history.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Consistency has been one of the biggest keys for me. I’ve learned to keep creating even when things aren’t perfect. Staying authentic is also important. I try to make music that honestly reflects who I am instead of chasing trends.
Another big part of the journey has been connecting emotionally with people. Whether through songs, stories, visuals, or social media, I want listeners to feel something real and personal.
