Acclaimed Artists Jobbo & SLIMFLO Impress with Atmospheric EP Origin and a Bold New Creative Vision

Every meaningful creative movement starts with an idea that feels personal. For Jobbo and SLIMFLO, that idea has taken shape through Origin, an EP that introduces far more than new music. It opens the doors to We Don’t Speak, a record label established to reflect their artistic identity and long-term creative philosophy.

The label emerged from a belief that music has the power to communicate beyond language. Instead of relying on trends or formulas, the duo focuses on atmosphere, emotion, and carefully crafted sonic textures. Their goal is to create experiences that listeners connect with on a deeper level, allowing every release to tell its own story through sound.

As the first chapter of We Don’t Speak, Origin carries a sense of anticipation. The artists hope listeners will feel they are witnessing the birth of something meaningful. Years from now, they envision people remembering that they discovered the label at its very first release and followed its growth from the beginning.

Building Music Across Countries and Shared Inspiration

Creating music together while living in different countries brought unique experiences to the partnership. Jobbo works from Colombia, while SLIMFLO is based in Panama. Although modern technology made communication possible every day, inspiration arrived according to its own schedule.

There were moments when one artist felt completely immersed in creativity while the other focused on everyday responsibilities. Rather than forcing the process, they allowed ideas to develop naturally. That patience became one of the defining characteristics behind Origin.

One producer would spend time shaping a groove, experimenting with melodies, or arranging sections before sending the project across the border. The other would return with fresh ideas, new perspectives, and subtle refinements that expanded the music even further. Every exchange strengthened the tracks while preserving the individuality of both artists.

This collaborative rhythm gradually transformed distance into an advantage. The different environments, experiences, and emotions each artist brought into the sessions gave the EP a richer identity. Every stage of production reflected real moments from their lives, making the music feel authentic from beginning to end.

The creative process also reinforced the philosophy behind We Don’t Speak. Trust, patience, and artistic freedom became essential ingredients, allowing every composition to evolve without unnecessary pressure. The result is a collection of music that feels carefully developed rather than hurried.

Two Established Careers Unite Under One Label

The partnership between Jobbo and SLIMFLO combines years of dedication to electronic music with a desire to explore fresh creative territory.

SLIMFLO, originally from Switzerland and now based in Panama, developed his passion during Europe’s influential rave culture of the 1990s. Experiences at events such as Zurich’s Street Parade helped shape the musical direction that would later define his career. His productions blend Deep House, Melodic House, and Progressive House into immersive listening experiences filled with atmosphere and rhythmic detail.

Following his move to Panama in 2013, SLIMFLO became an active contributor to the regional electronic music community through original event concepts and collaborations with respected cultural organizations. His career has included performances alongside internationally recognized artists including Carl Craig, Lee Burridge, Lee Foss, Roy Rosenfeld, Magdalena, Animal Trainer, M.A.N.D.Y., Echonomist, Sahar Z, and several others. Recent releases have achieved Beatport chart success while projects such as TERRA MUTA continue expanding his creative vision.

Jobbo brings more than seventeen years of experience as a producer whose music has gained support from leading names including Tale Of Us, ARTBAT, Adriatique, Kevin de Vries, and Massano. His latest artistic direction reflects a more personal approach, blending Afro Melodic House with organic instrumentation and Indie influences to create emotionally engaging productions.

Together, both artists have established We Don’t Speak as a home for music driven by honesty, creativity, and meaningful expression. The label serves as a platform where artistic independence remains central to every release.

About Artists

Jobbo and SLIMFLO are electronic music producers and the founders of We Don’t Speak, an independent record label dedicated to emotionally driven electronic music. Working between Colombia and Panama, they combine years of international experience with a shared commitment to artistic freedom and immersive storytelling through sound. Their debut EP, Origin, represents the label’s inaugural release and introduces the musical philosophy that will guide future projects.

Looking Toward the Future

Origin marks the opening page of an evolving creative journey rather than a single release. Through We Don’t Speak, Jobbo and SLIMFLO have established a space where music is created with intention, emotion, and lasting artistic purpose. As listeners discover the EP, they also become part of the label’s earliest chapter, joining a story whose future continues to unfold with every new release.

We had the privilege of interviewing SLIMFLO. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Hi, Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

My name is Flo, although most people know me as Slimflo. I’m a DJ, producer, and co-founder of We Don’t Speak. At its core, what I do is quite simple: I collect emotions, experiences, and influences through life, and I try to translate them into music. Whether it’s through a DJ set, a track, or a release on the label, my goal has always been to create moments of connection.

Please share your journey with our readers.

Music has never been something I chose. It has always been there. Long before I thought about producing music or playing in clubs, I was fascinated by how certain records could completely change the atmosphere of a room or transport you back to a specific moment in your life. I became obsessed with discovering music, understanding it, and sharing it with others.

Like many people, I built a life outside of music. There were careers, responsibilities, family commitments, and all the realities that come with adulthood. But music remained the constant thread running through everything. No matter where life took me, I always came back to it.

Looking back, I realize that my journey has been less about pursuing a career and more about following a feeling. A feeling that there was something meaningful in creating, connecting, and sharing experiences through sound.

The creation of We Don’t Speak feels like the most honest expression of that idea. The label wasn’t born from a market opportunity or a business plan. It came from conversations between friends -Jobbo & myself- from a shared passion for underground music, and from the desire to create a home for music we genuinely believe in.

Our first release, Origin, is symbolic for that reason. It represents a beginning, but also everything that came before it: years of listening, learning, traveling, meeting people, making mistakes, growing, and slowly finding a voice.

What has guided you throughout your journey?

Curiosity more than anything else. I’ve never wanted music to become a formula. The excitement has always come from discovering something new: a record, an artist, a city, a culture, or even a different perspective on sound.

Patience has also been important. We live in a time where everything feels accelerated, but some things cannot be rushed. Musical identity, meaningful relationships, and lasting projects all take time to develop.

Most importantly, I’ve learned to trust my instincts. Not every decision will be right, but the moments I’m proudest of are the ones where I followed my intuition rather than expectations.

Any message for our readers?

I think we’re all searching for connection in one way or another. Music has taught me that some of the most meaningful moments in life are often the simplest ones: hearing a track at exactly the right time, sharing a dancefloor with strangers, discovering an artist that speaks to you, or feeling understood without a single word being exchanged.

If there’s one thing I hope people take from my music and from We Don’t Speak, it’s a sense of authenticity. We are not trying to chase trends or create noise. We simply want to share music that feels honest to us and invite others to be part of the journey.

To everyone who supports independent artists, independent labels, and underground culture: thank you. These communities exist because people continue to believe in them.

Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
