Sean Trea’s the fleece rabbit unfolds like a musical storybook created for grown listeners. Across 15 explicit tracks, the independent Dallas artist combines romance, spiritual questions, sensual encounters, and animated fantasy with an experimental sound that feels closely connected to his personal history.
A New Passage Through an Expanding Mythology
Released on September 24, 2026, the fleece rabbit runs for 48 minutes and 21 seconds. It is Sean’s third solo album and the fifth installment of “a sinner is a caterpillar,” an ongoing saga built around transformation, identity, temptation, and emotional growth.
The story picks up shortly after MARTYR MiNiCRY, the latest album from his collective, CATERPILLARChildren. Sean’s character has arrived in a wilderness, though this setting carries little resemblance to a conventional forest. It bursts with colorful animals, unusual plants, monuments, and uncontrolled natural energy. Everything appears exaggerated, as if the environment came directly from a surreal video game or an experimental animated series.

Somewhere within this vivid landscape, Sean discovers a princess. Their meeting becomes the heart of the album’s narrative. As they grow closer, they begin traveling through a place called WONDERNESS, finding comfort in their shared experience while facing the complicated emotions surrounding love.
Their path eventually crosses with Corinth the Rabbit. Acting as their guide, Corinth directs the pair toward MOUNT OLIVES. The mountain supposedly contains the NEW WORLD Sean has been searching for throughout his journey. This promise creates a clear sense of direction while preserving the mystery that has defined the wider saga.
Songs That Carry the Story Forward
The album begins with “bunnyhop,” an expansive opening track that immediately establishes its central imagery. “fragments of the third” follows with a shorter running time, creating an effective shift before “heavy heart” brings emotional pressure to the surface. From there, “the eyes of kira” and “panic space” suggest observation, fear, and a mind struggling to process its surroundings.
Sean’s interest in faith and spiritual symbolism becomes especially visible through “sinner under the sun.” The song’s title connects personal imperfection with the natural world around his character. “losing our patience” then captures the strain that can develop when romance, responsibility, and uncertainty begin competing for attention.

Collaboration enters the album through “human conviction,” featuring itried2tellem. Its focus on conviction fits the record’s interest in perseverance and difficult choices. “deus, maximus” continues the grand religious tone, while “original sin,” featuring mysoultru, places desire and morality within the same imaginative space.
The later tracks bring another emotional turn. “dog bite” carries a sharp sense of danger, followed by the playful familiarity of “disney romance irl.” “beauty in the madness,” featuring ayrjordan, finds value within emotional disorder. “pandemonium” pushes the project toward its climax, and “fleece,” featuring monde, closes the album with a substantial five-and-a-half-minute finale.
Every song is marked explicit, which suits Sean’s direct treatment of sexuality and adult relationships. Even so, the album’s provocative elements exist within a larger story about companionship, endurance, pregnancy, and the courage required to pursue an uncertain future.
From Plush Movies to Musical Worlds
Sean’s fascination with storytelling began well before his recording career. At around nine or ten years old, he made YouTube content that included gaming videos, vlogs, and movies featuring plush toys. Those early productions allowed him to invent characters, stage scenes, and build narratives with whatever materials were available.
As Sean grew older, teenage interests replaced his plush filmmaking, and music became his next creative outlet. The transition was challenging. He experienced depression and felt that his imagination had weakened during this period. Hearing young artists produce catchy songs helped him recognize a new way to express himself.

He started making music around the summer following seventh grade, when the SoundCloud era was a major cultural force. Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Lil Uzi Vert, and YNW Melly were among the artists surrounding that formative period. Performers such as YNW BSlime, Tootie Raww, and Lil Blurry also encouraged him by showing that young musicians could create work with real impact.
His present artistic language reaches far beyond those early inspirations. Anime and video games such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Gurren Lagann influence his scale and visual imagination. The Bible contributes another source of characters, symbolism, spiritual conflict, and dramatic storytelling.

The Road Toward the NEW WORLD
the fleece rabbit presents Sean Trea as an artist committed to building stories across multiple projects. With another release teased for December 27, the anniversary of CHRYSALiS, WONDERNESS may be only one stop in a much larger journey.
We had the privilege of interviewing the artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name is Sean Trea, Trea is pronounced like Trey, the a’s basically silent. Some might know me as SKINNY J, TREAVON, HYBRID… TreyX for any OG fans… But Sean or Trea suffices nicely, though. I’m many things, but I’m mainly a music and film artist, with a knack for creative storytelling using religious contexts, spiritual concepts, and A LOT of inspiration from anime and video games like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy… Gurren Lagann. Can’t forget the Bible, one of the best anime out here.
Please tell us about your story/journey.
I started doing music when I was about 13 or 14, during the summer of my 7th grade year. This was when guys like Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Lil Uzi Vert, YNW Melly… Essentially like peak SoundCloud for me. Before I even picked up a mic, I was a YouTuber. I made gaming videos, IRL videos (Vlogs), but I mainly specialized in making Plush videos, which, if you don’t know, is where you take ya toys and grab a camera and just make movies with ’em. I was doing that from like 9 or 10 years old all the way up to 13, I think. I stopped really doing those kinds of videos because I was getting older, y’know? I started focusing more on teenage things, and playing with toys wasn’t really on my “to-do list” anymore. Once I kinda made that transition from YouTube to music, it was hard. I got really depressed during that transitional moment in my life. My imagination was super low; I wasn’t really storytelling like that… I kinda felt like I lost my Nen, on some Hunter X Hunter shit. Funny enough, I really decided to pick up a microphone when I saw dudes around my age making pretty catchy music, like Melly’s younger brother, YNW BSlime. Even dudes a little older than me, like Tootie Raww and Lil Blurry… Granted, I don’t listen to any of those guys anymore, but without their music, I can’t really say if I’d be doing this whole music thing.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
Honestly, just dropping music. I’m never really on hiatus for too long, but when I am, I’m usually behind the scenes working on something music- or film-related. Connections are also a big thing as well, keeping close tabs with collaborators and just keeping your energy entangled with your craft.
Any message for our readers.
