The Rise of MadTragic: How Zach’s Latest Single “Break More” Is Breaking Pop Norms

In the diverse world of music, few artists dare to redefine the boundaries of genre as boldly as Zach, the creative force behind MadTragic. Known for his innovative approach to “alt rap pop,” Zach has transitioned from the intense energy of extreme metal to the intricate rhythms of pop music, all while maintaining a focus on lyrical depth and mental health awareness. His journey from frontman for metal bands like Building the Architect and Monogamizer to his current incarnation as MadTragic showcases a dynamic evolution in style and substance.

From Metal to MadTragic: A Musical Transformation

Zach’s musical career spans over a decade, but the last two years have marked a significant shift in his artistic direction. Initially making waves in the extreme metal scene, his life took a new turn as personal developments—particularly fatherhood—prompted a shift towards more introspective music. Zach’s stint as Casual Ammo saw him exploring the singer-songwriter format, which eventually evolved into what fans now recognize as MadTragic.

MadTragic represents Zach’s latest venture, a project that melds pop sensibilities with the raw honesty of alternative rap. This new phase is not just a change in musical style but also a platform for advocacy, as Zach uses his music to spark conversations about mental health—a topic deeply important to him. This commitment to blending musical exploration with social awareness sets MadTragic apart in a crowded pop landscape.

“Break More”: An 18-Minute Musical Journey

Zach’s latest single under the MadTragic banner, “Break More,” is an ambitious piece that stretches over 18 minutes of freestyle rap set to a meticulously crafted beat. Contrary to what one might expect from such a lengthy track, Zach describes it as “a lot of fun” rather than pretentious. The single serves as a testament to his improvisational skills, a daring experiment in sustaining engagement over an extended runtime without sacrificing the quality of the beat or the narrative thrust of the lyrics.

The track starts off with a powerful beat, immediately setting the tone for what is an immersive listening experience. Zach’s approach to “Break More” was unconventional—he chose not to cut down the beat but rather to embrace its length as a challenge to his artistic capabilities. This decision highlights his preference for complex, evolving beats that allow him ample space to explore different lyrical themes and delivery styles.

A New Chapter: Anticipation for the Second Album

As MadTragic continues to gain momentum, fans eagerly anticipate the release of Zach’s second album, slated for June 2024. This upcoming project promises to further the sonic experimentation that fans have come to expect from MadTragic, likely featuring a mix of long-form tracks that showcase Zach’s versatility as a producer and lyricist.

The integration of long beats and freestyle elements suggests that the new album will continue to challenge conventional pop and rap formulations, offering listeners a rich tapestry of sounds and stories. Each track aims not only to entertain but also to provoke thought, reflecting Zach’s ongoing commitment to addressing complex themes such as mental health.

Joining the MadTragic Journey

For those who have followed Zach from his metal roots to his pop reincarnation as MadTragic, his career is a fascinating study in artistic evolution. For new listeners, MadTragic offers a fresh and exciting entry point into a musical discourse that not only entertains but also enlightens and inspires.

Listeners can explore MadTragic’s unique sound on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube, where Zach continues to redefine what pop music can represent. As MadTragic, Zach not only breaks more than just musical boundaries—he also builds a supportive community around his profound narrative on mental health, making each track resonate with a deeper meaning. Whether you are drawn by the innovative music or the impactful message, MadTragic promises a compelling blend of both, ensuring that the journey is as rewarding as the destination.

We had the pleasure of interviewing the Music Artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

I am Zach; I’ve been producing music for about ten years now but only doing the weird alt-rap pop stuff for the last two as MadTragic. Previously, I was in the Extreme Metal scene as the frontman for Building the Architect and Monogamizer. After leaving metal to raise a child, I did singer-songwriter stuff as Casual Ammo, which eventually evolved into MadTragic.

MadTragic is my attempt to make pop music with depth and to raise awareness for mental health.

Please tell us about your latest single

My latest single is Break More, which is a lot less pretentious than what I’m about to describe it as… Yes, it’s an 18-minute-long freestyle, but hey. It’s a lot of fun and I just couldn’t bring myself to edit it down. The beat is also killer, and it was already 18 minutes since I was done building it, so I used it as a sort of test for my improv skills. Most of the beats I make are long like this, and I end up cutting them down drastically before settling on a mix for vocals. Album number 2 coming in June 2024

What strategies contributed to your success?

Success? uhhh that’s yet to be determined because i’m not sure if I’ll ever consider any of my ventures as fully explored or completed. But, to answer your question less modestly, the key to my success is my friend’s unwavering confidence in me and their ability to keep me going even during those moments when I feel like nothing I do is worth anyone’s time.

Any special message for our readers?

No matter what anyone says, no matter what state the world you inhabit is in, you matter, and you can change the fibers of your universe to sew your life the way you want.

Thank you so much, Zach, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
