Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Ne'Vaeh Woods, a young, growing Entrepreneur, Founder of Clothing Label Vala Armon, and an Investor.
Please tell us about your journey.
My journey has been no perfect ride. I am still a small growing business. I grew up with a single mother; hard-working and motivated is what I turned out to be. I don't want to settle; I don't want to be average. I want my story to be known. I started my brand in 2018, my junior in high school, making sales to fellow classmates. Since then, I revamped and doing better off than better, and I hope to continuously grow in sales and wisdom.
Please tell us about your clothing label ‘Vala Armon.'
My brand name is Vala Armon. It meshes with my name Ne'Vaeh Armani —- Vala Armon. Everyone in my area who knows me calls me Vae for short, which I converted to Vala. And, my middle name being Armani, I converted it to Armon.
The name does have a meaning. Vala Armon means a chosen high place or my term for someone who elevates and strives to be better, to be successful. It also means something very rare. This name, I feel, represents me.
My story is very emotional. I'm a young black entrepreneur. We grew up on the north side of town, known as the ‘hood.' We always have been fighting for a way to help others and to break generational curses. Being around that environment is a struggle, but it made me better. It makes me who I am today. My mom was a single teen mother, my grandmother was on drugs, so my mom never experienced her teen life. She grew up the only way she knew how. I grew up without a father, father was behind bars trying to make money for him and his family.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
My mom was my biggest motivation and help. I always say I want her to retire and buy her a home someday. I want her to feel free, that all her work, tears, and prayers mean something.

Chase your dreams and break the cycles. Grow and become better for yourself; because, in 10 years, you'll regret being at a standstill.
