Today, we are interviewing LaKeisha Randall, Esq. She owns The Randall Firm, an Atlanta, Georgia based civil law firm specializing in car accidents, personal injury, divorce, family law, and estate planning.
Please tell us something about yourself.
I am a native of Atlanta, and I’m licensed to practice law in Georgia and Washington DC. My largest areas of practice are car accidents, personal injury, and divorce. My clients seek my help when they are in their most fragile and life-altering times, and I do not take this responsibility lightly.
As a former civil litigation defense trial attorney, I have specialized in automobile law, general negligence, medical malpractice, and trucking law on both sides of the aisle.
I have fought for Fortune 50 insurance companies, corporations, hospitals, top physicians, and trucking companies, have a unique background in defending insurance companies and corporations.
The Randall Firm is located in the Buckhead community of Atlanta, but we represent clients across Georgia. In fact, we’re particularly working on expanding our footprint in Columbus, Augusta, and Macon.
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.
I graduated from Georgia State University and North Carolina Central University School of Law. I am very involved in the community and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and Alpha Kappa Delta, an International Sociology honor society.
Who are your role models?
My role models are my late grandparents, my god-mother (who I affectionately call Yane), my grandma (Jean), and my parents. Collectively, they raised me in an environment where hard work, integrity, and self-awareness were cornerstones of my upbringing. I founded The Randall Firm (LRandallFirm.com) to fight for everyday/hardworking people like those who raised me.
Please tell us about your firm.
Law is personal, and so are my areas of practice–Injuries, Family, and Planning. The Randall Firm is a Buckhead Atlanta law firm that specializes in all personal injury, family law, and estate planning.
Our personal injury practice represents those who have been harmed due to the negligence of another person or company. This includes car accidents, large truck wrecks, and motorcycle crashes, 18 wheeler collisions, premises liability, negligent security, injuries on the job, botched surgeries, medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, pursuing civil remedies for those who have been victims of violence, daycare abuse or neglect, nursing home abuse or neglect and more. We represent clients across Georgia with a particular focus on the Atlanta metropolitan area, Columbus, Augusta, and Macon. We offer free consultations for personal injury cases, so people are encouraged to call us at (404) 777-3833 to assess any grounds for recovery.
The majority of our family law practice includes divorce-uncontested divorces, contested divorces, and collaborative divorces. Other family law services include name changes, legitimation & paternity, representation at mediation, child custody, visitation, and parenting plans. We also counsel families regarding the rights of grandparents and third party custody/visitation.
Regarding estate planning, The Randall Firm is on a mission to let others know that estate planning is for everyone! It is not restricted to those who are married, parents, or ultra-wealthy. The Randall Firm’s estate planning practice drafts wills, power of attorneys, advanced health care directives, guardianship documents, trusts, and some prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Although I am a career civil litigator/trial attorney, I added estate planning to my practice because it is an access to justice issue. The working poor and middle class are disproportionately impacted in additional costs because they fail to adequately protect their wishes and assets that they’ve worked hard for.
One of the unique offerings of my firm is our Family Planning Meeting. For a negotiated rate, I will speak to families, churches, or organizations about estate planning collectively and, subsequently, schedule 1:1 meetings to create a personalized plan. My clients love this service! The group setting plants a seed or stated differently begins a sometimes uncomfortable conversation in an easier environment.
What keeps you going when things get tough?
Although I’m very self-motivated, I have difficult days like everyone else. During those times, I listen to my body, rest, and recharge. In addition to being an attorney, I’m a life coach. I own Atlanta Life Coaching and Consulting. I regularly practice self-care, eat healthy foods, spend time in nature, listen to music, pray, meditate, and practice yoga.
