From the Middle East to the World: A Gamer’s Tale

AntimatterPlays 2Antimatterplays roots trace back to the Middle East, where his early fascination with gaming began. This passion followed him across continents when he studied in the United States, enriching his worldview and enhancing his fluency in English. Now in his mid-30s, he brings a mature and open-minded approach to his content, blending his cultural experiences to connect with a diverse audience.

His gaming repertoire is diverse, but he has a particular affinity for horror games. Titles like “Dead by Daylight,” “Phasmophobia,” “Lethal Company,” and “A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead” are staples in his streaming lineup. What sets him apart is his authentic reactions—when he’s startled, you’ll feel it; when he’s strategizing, you’ll be right there with him. His streams aren’t just about gameplay; they’re about sharing an experience that’s as real as it gets.

Cultivating a Community Without Borders

AntimatterPlays 3At the heart of Antimatterplays streaming philosophy is a commitment to building a community that’s welcoming to all. Discrimination has no place in the Antiverse. He’s non-judgmental and values open-mindedness, creating a safe space where viewers from all backgrounds can feel included. Whether you’re a subscriber, a follower, or a casual viewer, you’re part of the conversation.

Engagement is key for Antimatterplays. He makes a concerted effort to interact with his audience, responding to comments and fostering discussions that often extend beyond gaming. He’s fascinated by different cultures and enjoys learning from his viewers just as much as he enjoys sharing his own experiences. This global mindset is reflected in his collaborations; he frequently plays with gamers from Singapore, the Philippines, and other regions that share similar time zones. As long as communication flows in English, he’s open to teaming up.

Streaming with Purpose: Beyond Entertainment

Antimatterplays isn’t just streaming for the fun of it—though fun is certainly a big part of the equation. He’s investing his time and energy into streaming with the goal of achieving financial independence from traditional work. His aspiration is to become a full-time streamer, allowing him to dedicate even more effort to his community and content creation.

He actively seeks feedback from his viewers, often running polls on his Discord server to determine what games to play next or what content they’d like to see. This collaborative approach ensures that his streams remain fresh and aligned with the interests of his audience. He’s also keen on giving back, whether it’s through community events or simply being a supportive presence for those who need it.

Breaking Stereotypes and Building Bridges

One of Antimatterplays core missions is to showcase a side of Middle Eastern gamers that isn’t often highlighted. By being open, friendly, and communicative, he aims to break down misconceptions and promote a more accurate representation of gamers from his region. His streams serve as a bridge between cultures, fostering understanding and mutual respect.

He believes that gaming is a universal language, one that can bring people together regardless of their background. By sharing his perspectives and inviting others to share theirs, he creates a rich tapestry of experiences that enriches everyone involved.

We had the privilege of interviewing the Twitch Streamer. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

I’ve always been obsessed with gaming ever since I was a kid. My content focuses on a variety of games, mostly horror. I engage with viewers as much as I can; I love meeting and talking to a diverse group of people and learning more about different cultures. I am Middle Eastern but studied in the US. I speak English fluently, and I’m non-judgmental and quite open-minded. I don’t tolerate discrimination of any kind/form. I want to build my community around non-judgmental followers from all kinds of backgrounds; I’d love to share my adventures and perspectives about life in general. I am in my mid-30s. As you can tell by my streams, I play with people from Singapore, the Philippines, Pakistan, etc, due to the similar time zones. I don’t really have a limit to who I play with as long as they can communicate in English and are consistent. I also love to give back to the community whenever possible.

Please tell us about your journey.

I’ve never really considered streaming, despite my love for gaming and watching other content creators. My personal life, however, kinda, forced me to look for other side jobs, and I decided to fully invest in streaming as I hope it will help me be financially independent of work (I’d like to be a full-time streamer someday and fully focus on my community). When I considered other business ideas, I wasn’t too convinced because of the small market in our region and other financial difficulties. Streaming seemed to me to be the obvious choice as it costs significantly less than all other options. I have been planning this for months, and as can be seen by my streaming journey (which literally just started) that I have improved my setup and streaming in general. I became familiar with OBS and other tools to engage my small audience and I would love to take this path and share my real stories about my personal struggles in the future.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

I wouldn’t consider myself successful yet, but I am a genuine guy and have genuine reactions in my streams, specifically the horror games. I avoid the games I played in the past because I can’t really fake my reactions. I also engage as much as I can with my viewers and work hard to make everyone feel involved regardless of whether they are subscribers/followers or not. I genuinely love talking to people, and my goal is to create a fun, mature, and friendly community. I also wanna show my viewers the other side of Middle Eastern gamers, specifically the ones who can communicate in English and are very welcoming to all cultures and backgrounds.

Any message for our readers

Come and say hi. Ask me questions as long as they’re appropriate. I’ll always do my best to make my community happy; I listen to suggestions when it comes to games and run polls on my discord for the upcoming content. I’ll do my best to accommodate everyone and give them a fresh perspective from this region. We’re all genuinely friendly and mature here. Everyone is welcome, and the background doesn’t matter.

Thank you so much, Antimatterplays, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
