Burnout in the Bridal Industry: How Sharon Valentine’s VALS Consultancy Helps Women Reclaim Joy

Bringing Peace Back Into Wedding Planning

When couples start their wedding journey, the excitement can be electric. Dreams of walking down the aisle and celebrating with loved ones quickly fill the air. Yet, as days pass, those dreams often collide with spreadsheets, deadlines, and countless decisions. What begins as joy can shift into exhaustion.

That’s where Sharon Valentine steps in. As the founder of VALS Consultancy and a dedicated Wedding Wellness Consultant, she helps brides and wedding professionals bring balance back into the process. Her work centers on protecting peace, nurturing emotional wellbeing, and reminding people that weddings should be a time to cherish rather than a season to simply survive.

Experience That Speaks Volumes

Sharon’s career began in the heart of the wedding industry. Sharon founded Valentine Weddings UK in 2009 and grew it into a thriving international wedding planning business. As a planner, she coordinated events with precision, tackling everything from seating charts to vendor management. She saw firsthand how stress built up for clients and even for the professionals running the show. What struck her most was that joy sometimes faded behind the heavy weight of logistics.

Her perspective deepened after walking her own path as a bride. She understood how personal expectations, family input, and financial pressures combined to create a perfect storm of overwhelm. The pandemic closed that chapter of wedding planning in 2020. Two years later, she faced widowhood, a chapter that reshaped her resilience and empathy. Those experiences gave her the clarity to pivot her career. Today, she blends her insider knowledge of weddings with her profound understanding of emotional healing.

Through VALS Consultancy, Sharon guides others to plan with gentleness, reminding them that their wellbeing is worth protecting every step of the way.

Gentle Reminders for the Journey

Sharon created her Gentle Reminders Series™ as a way to support brides and wedding professionals who crave calm amidst the chaos. The series starts with the Start Gently Guide, a free resource that offers small but impactful steps for grounding yourself before diving too deeply into planning. This guide can be downloaded at valsconsultancy.co.uk/start-gently.

The collection has grown to include digital wellness tools, private one-on-one sessions, and tailored advice designed to fit different needs. Sharon works with clients across the world, offering her expertise in English-speaking settings. Whether someone is overwhelmed by family pressures or a professional juggling multiple weddings, her methods provide clarity and comfort.

Clients often describe the experience as a reset. They walk away feeling lighter, more focused, and reassured that their needs truly matter. Sharon isn’t about grand overhauls. Her approach is grounded, practical, and rooted in compassion. Each session or resource is a reminder to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the joy that sparked the wedding journey in the first place.

Why Balance Matters

The wedding industry often paints planning as a blissful adventure. But in reality, it can feel like a job that demands late nights, endless communication, and constant decision-making. Brides sometimes lose sight of their own needs, while professionals risk emotional fatigue after managing multiple clients at once. Without careful attention, burnout can overshadow what should be one of life’s most beautiful chapters.

Sharon’s philosophy places wellness at the forefront. She knows that when brides feel supported and calm, the wedding itself becomes more meaningful. Likewise, when professionals maintain balance, their creativity and energy flourish. Emotional health isn’t a side note; it’s a vital part of the process that shapes the memories people carry forward.

Her work has helped shift the conversation toward wellness in weddings. It’s a gentle reminder that balance isn’t optional. It’s essential.

A Kinder Way Forward

Sharon Valentine has turned her personal story and professional experience into a guiding light for those navigating the pressures of wedding planning. Through VALS Consultancy, she shows that weddings don’t have to drain energy or joy. Instead, with the right support, the journey can feel calmer and more intentional.

Her resources, from the Gentle Reminders Series™ to private coaching, are all designed with one mission in mind: to help clients stay connected to themselves. Every bride and professional deserves to step into this chapter feeling balanced and prepared, not exhausted or overwhelmed.

Sharon’s message resonates clearly: peace is possible. Wedding planning can be filled with joy when approached with care, compassion, and the right tools. By reframing the experience, she helps people create memories that feel as beautiful as the day itself.

For anyone stepping into the whirlwind of preparations, Sharon offers encouragement and guidance that ensures one truth remains at the center: love deserves a joyful beginning.

We had the privilege of interviewing Sharon Valentine. Here are excerpts from the interview.

Hi Sharon, it’s great to have you with us today! Please share about yourself with our readers.

Hi, I’m a Wedding Wellness Consultant and the founder of VALS Consultancy. I support brides and wedding professionals across the world with emotional well-being tools, burnout prevention, and gentle planning strategies. Through calming resources, private sessions, and digital downloads, I help people reconnect with peace during what can be an incredibly stressful season of life or business.

Please tell us about your journey.

I’m a former wedding planner who experienced first-hand how overwhelming planning can become — even with industry experience. I was once a bride myself, but later found myself navigating widowhood. That journey reshaped everything. It gave me the resilience, compassion, and emotional depth I needed to help others protect their mental well-being during life’s most pressurised moments.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

After that deep personal loss and witnessing how stress affects both couples and professionals, I shifted my work toward emotional support. VALS Consultancy was born out of love, empathy, and the belief that no one should lose themselves to pressure or perfection. I now focus on helping others feel seen, heard, and supported, whether they’re planning a wedding or rebuilding their life.

Any message for our readers?

Planning a wedding or building a business doesn’t have to cost your peace. If you’re feeling stretched or emotionally burnt out, you’re not failing — you’re human. There’s space for joy, stillness, and clarity even in life’s busiest chapters. My work is here to remind you of that, and to support you wherever you are in the journey.

Thank you so much, Sharon, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
