Secret Garden Volume 4 by Visionary Artist Chaiitanya Bulusu Is a Spiritual Masterpiece

On May 20, 2025, Layer Music Project unveiled “Secret Garden Volume 4”, an album that promises to transport listeners to a different realm. Created by Chaiitanya Bulusu, known as Chatty, this 17-track album spans 55 minutes and 47 seconds of immersive soundscapes, blending electronic music with a myriad of global influences. With his unique ability to fuse his engineering background with his passion for music, Chatty offers more than just a collection of songs—he crafts an experience that’s meant to be felt, heard, and visualized.

The Power of Synesthesia: A Colorful Sonic Experience

One of the most captivating aspects of Chatty’s music is his experience of synesthesia—his ability to see colors when he hears sound. This rare condition is the foundation for much of his creative process. As he layers his tracks, he imagines colors and textures, translating them into sonic forms. This imaginative process elevates his music beyond ordinary soundscapes, inviting listeners into a world where every note, beat, and texture is infused with visual and emotional depth.

With “Volume 4”, Chatty takes this synesthetic experience to new heights. He translates his vivid, colorful perception of sound into atmospheric compositions that feel as if they could be seen and touched. Each track in the album is a brushstroke on a canvas of sound, enveloping listeners in a full sensory experience. By combining his visual and auditory worlds, Chatty creates music that resonates on both an emotional and intellectual level, making “Secret Garden Volume 4” unlike anything in the electronic genre.

A Continued Sonic Journey: Expanding the Secret Garden Series

“Secret Garden Volume 4” is the latest chapter in Chatty’s ongoing Secret Garden series. This latest release continues the series’ thematic exploration of mystical, immersive soundscapes. As with its predecessors, Volume 4 builds upon a central narrative—a “lost manuscript” that threads the album together, creating a sense of continuity and connection between the tracks.

What makes Volume 4 stand out is its ability to blend a narrative with sonic texture. It’s about following a story, a journey that’s told through sound. The seamless transitions between tracks, combined with Chatty’s masterful production, guide listeners through a tale of ancient wisdom, mysticism, and introspective reflection. From the opening track “Prologue: The Hidden Manuscript,” listeners are taken on a journey that feels like stepping into an ancient temple or a forgotten world.

Global Sound Fusion: The Intersection of Cultures

A defining feature of Secret Garden Volume 4 is its fusion of various musical influences from around the world. Drawing from cinematic soundscapes, world music traditions, and electronic elements, Chatty creates an album that is both global and deeply personal. The album’s rich textures incorporate influences from Gregorian chants, Indian devotional music, and ancient tribal rhythms, combined with modern electronic production. It’s a mix that feels both timeless and contemporary, as if it spans centuries but is rooted in the here and now.

Tracks like “Sacred Chant of the Moon” and “Whispers in the Temple” bring together ambient flutes, tribal drums, and chants, evoking a sense of mysticism and reverence. The intricate hypnotic rhythms add to the atmosphere of each track, making Volume 4 a journey into otherworldly realms. Whether it’s the haunting vocals of “Serpent’s Lullaby” or the cinematic layers of “Dust of Divine Wrath,” each piece in the album builds an evocative world that invites deep immersion.

Spiritual Depth: Music as Contemplation

One of the key elements of “Volume 4” is its spiritual undertones. Chatty’s music often delves into themes of devotion, ritual, and introspection. Tracks like “The Alchemist’s Prayer” and “Mystic Caravan” introduce a spiritual element that transforms the album into a form of sonic meditation. The combination of mantras, chants, and electronic textures creates an atmosphere where listeners can lose themselves in the sound, becoming part of the ritualistic experience.

For Chatty, creating music is about evoking emotions and connecting listeners with something greater than themselves. In “Volume 4”, the spiritual elements go beyond mere ornamentation. They are integrated into the very core of the album, offering a deeper connection to the music itself. The album becomes a way to explore one’s inner self.

Chatty’s Evolution: From Dance to Deep Atmosphere

Chatty’s musical evolution is a story of growth and transformation. From his beginnings in the high-energy electronic music group KRAZY ELECTRONS, where basslines and rhythms took center stage, to his solo project Layer Music Project, Chatty has shifted toward a more introspective, atmospheric style. Volume 4 marks the culmination of this transformation, showing Chatty’s versatility as an artist. While his earlier work was grounded in dancefloor energy, his more recent releases focus on creating deep, immersive environments that encourage introspection and exploration.

This shift in style has allowed Chatty to experiment with new sounds and techniques, blending his deep love for rhythm and bass with more atmospheric and melodic elements. Collaborations with international artists have also pushed him to expand his creative horizons, resulting in a fresh yet familiar sound. “Volume 4” is the result of this creative journey—an album that speaks to anyone who appreciates immersive, emotionally charged art.

The Invitation to Explore: A Personal Sonic Landscape

In the end, Secret Garden Volume 4 is more than just an album—it’s an invitation to explore the unknown. Through Chatty’s intricate soundscapes and visionary storytelling, listeners are invited into a world of mystery, introspection, and spiritual depth. Whether you’re looking to lose yourself in a meditative experience or dive deep into a rich, immersive sonic journey, “Volume 4” offers something for everyone.

By combining elements of ancient wisdom, world music, and modern electronic production, Chatty creates an album that is as much a work of art as it is a journey into the self. “Secret Garden Volume 4” proves that music is more than just entertainment—it’s a powerful vehicle for exploration, reflection, and transformation.

We had the privilege of interviewing the Music Artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself.

Hello, this is Chaiitanya Bulusu, also known as Layer Music Project (Chatty).

Could you please tell us about your album, “Secret Garden Volume 4”?

The album “Secret Garden Volume 4.” represents a continued personal journey into immersive and evocative soundscapes, building upon the narrative threads and interconnectedness that define the “Secret Garden” series.

For me, creating “Secret Garden Volume 4” is about more than just composing music; it’s about crafting an experience. My synesthesia informs how I perceive sound, and this album is an attempt to translate those unique sensory impressions into a cohesive and transportive listening experience. The interconnectedness of the tracks is crucial, designed to guide you through an unfolding narrative with seamless transitions.

What Awaits in Volume 4:

This album delves deeper into the blend of the ethereal and the grounding that characterizes the “Secret Garden” aesthetic. Within it, you’ll discover:

Echoes of Ancient Worlds:

Expect to encounter sonic textures reminiscent of Gregorian and Indian chants, the haunting beauty of ethereal vocals, and the resonant depth of monastic-inspired harmonies, all woven into the fabric of modern electronic music.

A Global Fusion of Sounds: Drawing inspiration from diverse musical landscapes, including cinematic atmospheres, the richness of world music traditions, and the intricate beauty of classical forms, “Volume 4” merges electronic elements with sounds evoking ambient flutes, tribal rhythms, and even subtle hints of Eastern melodic and rhythmic patterns.

Immersive and Atmospheric Textures:

As someone deeply involved in the technical aspects of sound design, I’ve focused on creating intricate melodies, expansive sonic textures, and subtly propulsive rhythms. Expect to be enveloped by cavernous reverbs, echoing environments, and cinematic layers that aim to transport you to other realms.

Spiritual Undertones:

Woven throughout the album are often devotional themes and subtle mantra-like elements, adding a layer of introspective depth to the overarching sonic narrative. It’s designed to be both a listening experience and a form of sonic contemplation.

“Secret Garden Volume 4” is an invitation to lose yourself in sound, to embark on a journey through time and atmosphere where evocative soundscapes unveil their secrets. It’s a deeply personal expression.

“Volume 4” is a vital continuation of the “Secret Garden” series. Each album builds on a singular narrative…(in this case, it’s a “lost manuscript” concept), offering deeper dives into mystical themes. My goal is “storytelling without words” (of course, there are words that I have used in a few tracks, but it doesn’t follow ABABCAB or any other chorus or verse pattern). Using atmosphere and seamless continuity, I convey narrative and emotion, creating a cinematic feel throughout. It’s an invitation into an ongoing saga.

While the series shares kinship with atmospheric electronic traditions, “Volume 4″ carries my distinct signature. A key element is the seamless integration of Carnatic vocal influences within the electronic framework. This fusion sets Layer Music Project apart in the ambient/world electronic genre. Besides, every album mentions the signature ” You are listening to Layer Music project and this is Secret Garden Volume X.”

My background, blending engineering with music, means meticulous attention to sound design. Every texture, rhythm, and atmospheric layer is sculpted with precision for an immersive listening experience. It’s about achieving both emotional depth and technical excellence.

The vibe of “Secret Garden Volume 4” is an immersive journey through time. Imagine exploring ancient temples or hidden crypts. The music guides an external adventure or internal contemplation. It’s designed for active listening, inviting discovery.

Please tell us about your Creative Process.

My synesthesia…literally seeing sound…is fundamental to my creative process. This isn’t just metaphorical; it directly influences how I layer instruments and sculpt frequencies. For “Volume 4,” specific colors and visual textures guided the arrangements, offering a unique, unseen dimension to the music. This distinct sensory input makes my approach stand out.

Please tell us about your journey.

My journey from “KRAZY ELECTRONS” (high-energy dance) to Layer Music Project (introspective atmosphere) highlights my versatility. Collaborations with Indian and international artists also continually push me to explore new musical territories.

Thank you so much, Chaitanya, for taking the time to speak with us! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
